ADUM5401W is a quad-channel isolator with isoPower® integrated DC-to-DC converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dc converter provides up to 500mW of regulated, isolated power at 5.0V. This device eliminates the need for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter in low power, isolated designs. The iCoupler chip scale transformer technology is used to isolate the logic signals and for the magnetic components of the dc-to-dc converter. The result is a small form factor, total isolation solution. isoPower uses high frequency switching elements to transfer power through its transformer. Safety and regulatory approvals are UL recognition: 2500V rms for 1 minute per UL 1577, CSA component acceptance notice 5A, VDE certificate of conformity, DIN EN 69747-5-2 (VDE 0884 Teil 2):2003-1, VIORM=565 V peak. Typical application is hybrid electric battery management.
- Qualified for automotive applications, quad dc-to-25Mbps (NRZ) signal isolation channels
- Provides an upgraded voltage reference to ensure proper start-up under all load conditions
- Output ripple is 75mV p-p typ (20MHz bandwidth, CBO=0.1µF / 10µF, IISO=90mA, TA=25°C)
- Output noise is 200mV p-p (CBO=0.1µF / 10µF, IISO=90mA, TA=25°C, VDD1=VSEL=VISO=5V)
- Switching frequency is 180MHz typ (TA=25°C, VDD1=VSEL=VISO=5V)
- Output supply current is 100mA minimum (VISO <gt/> 4.5V, TA=25°C, VDD1=VSEL=VISO=5V)
- Efficiency at IISO (max) is 34% typ (IISO=100mA, TA=25°C, VDD1=VSEL=VISO=5V)
- Number of inputs VDD1 side is 3, number of inputs VISO side is 1, 25Mbps maximum data rate
- Maximum propagation delay 5V is 60ns, maximum pulse width distortion is 6ns
- 16-lead SOIC-W package, -40°C to +105°C temperature rating
